FORT DODGE AGENCY ACQUISITION

Doug Follmann, Agency Manager for Town & Country Insurance, recently announced the purchase of the Steven Opheim Insurance Agency in Fort Dodge, effective November 1, 2011. Steve Opheim has operated an insurance agency in Fort Dodge since 1981.
Opheim says, “I have been in the insurance business for the past 33 years. I have met many wonderful people and made some great friendships that will last forever. My wife, Becky, and I have decided to retire. It is time for us to move closer to family. When I decided to sell my business, I knew I wanted a agency that has the capability, credibility, and friendliness to provide the level of service that my clients deserve. I have found that in Town and Country Insurance.”
Follmann says, “Following the merger of our two agencies, Steve will assist in the transition of his clients to Town & Country Insurance and then plans to retire with wife Becky to Las Vegas to be closer to family. We look forward to meeting Steve’s clients and providing them with our excellent quality service and large product offerings. It’s also great to have Steve on our staff during this transition period. “

MEET ANDY JOHNSON

Andy Johnson joins the staff in the Story City office, 609 Broad Street. Andy is a graduate of Belmond High School, and holds a BA degree from the University of Northern Iowa. He has 22 years in the insurance industry having worked most recently with Pekin Insurance Company and EMC Insurance Group. Andy has earned the professional designations of CLU, CHFC, and LUTCF. A member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City and past president of the Roland Story Athletic Booster Foundation, Andy spends time attending his kids’ activities and enjoys fishing, golf, and hunting. He and his wife Jill have lived in the Roland – Story City area for 14 years and have two sons, Bret, 19 and Cole, 16. We are very pleased to have him join our Story City staff.

Karla Neese joins Town & Country Insurance as a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative in the Fort Dodge office. Karla has 2 years of previous insurance experience and holds an Iowa personal insurance license. She is a member of Webster City Rotary and a board member of Webster City Area Development. A graduate of Boone High School and Des Moines Area Community College, she lives in Webster City with husband Lance. She loves to spend time with her family, 2 daughters and a son-in-law and 2 cats. Angie is a Webster City High School graduate, has earned an Associate’s Degree from Iowa Central and has 9 years of prior experience in the insurance industry. In addition to spending time with her son Sam, 6, Angie has been involved with Relay for Life, Webster City Hype and is a 2011 graduate of the Fort Dodge Leadership Program.
